International Civil Service Law:

We have longstanding and unparalleled experience representing staff of international organizations in a variety of personnel, ethics and employment matters. We have litigated these matters before the internal dispute resolution bodies of international organizations that enjoy immunity from the jurisdiction of national courts. Clients have included staff members of the World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund, Inter-American Development Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank and various other international and United Nations organizations. We have appeared in multiple proceedings before the international organizations’ administrative grievance panels and tribunals, including the World Bank Appeals Committee, World Bank Administrative Tribunal, IMF Grievance Committee, IMF Administrative Tribunal, African Development Bank Administrative Tribunal and ILO Administrative Tribunal. 

Misconduct Investigations and Corporate Ethics:

We represent and defend staff members of the international civil service during all stages of internal investigations into allegations of staff misconduct and ethical violations. 

In addition, we represent individuals and business in external investigations into allegations of fraud and corruption with international scope.

Representative Services:

We offer representative services at the World Bank Group including the World Bank / International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). Our assistance includes direct contacts to these institutions, and support for projects selected for financing. Similar support can be provided for the Inter-American Development Bank and the African Development Bank.

We have handled a variety of corporate transactional matters for energy and infrastructure project developers, including guiding mergers and acquisitions, providing corporate financing support, structuring joint ventures and other advising on strategic transactions.

We also have highly respected expertise in international business ethics standards and in compliance with standards set by legal frameworks such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Litigation and Arbitration:

We support and assist our clients with their litigation, mediation and arbitration advocacy needs, both in United States courts and internationally. We have extensive experience with international arbitration in international business and investment disputes. Among others, we have represented clients during arbitration under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce and the London Court of International Arbitration.

Energy Infrastructure:

Our attorneys have managed the legal aspects of a variety of energy infrastructure projects and have been engaged by clients in the development of conventional power plants, onshore and offshore wind facilities, solar, biomass, and geothermal energy projects as well as hydropower projects worldwide.
